4 months old (plus a few weeks!!)

Thanks to all of you who remind (sometimes strongly remind) me for an update :)

Here is Gabe with his Teddy Bear at 4 months (back in January).

He has grown so much!---actually doubled in size since he was born!! We finally got in for his four-month appointment yesterday (just a few weeks late).
His 4-month stats:

*16 lbs 0 oz (56th percentile)
*25.4 inches long (50th percentile)
*head circumference is 16.69 inches (40th percentile)
Gabriel loves to talk, smile, and laugh. He has favorite toys--including a rattle from Auntie Hilary and a duck toy that rolls from Auntie Molly. Gabe loves when we sing or make silly noises--including rolling "R's" and blowing raspberries. He recognizes mommy and daddy and other important people in his life.

January's highlights include:

Jan.3: Cousin Kara's wedding (Gabe's first wedding)
Jan.4: Family Christmas in Eau Claire (receives lots of special gifts, including a sled from Grandma and Grandpa)
Jan.4: Said "Da-da" and "Dad" (but hasn't since...)

Jan. 18: Passed rattle from one hand to the other (only time he's done this so far)
Jan.23: Rolls from front to back for Daddy
Jan. 24: Grandma and Grandpa Park, Auntie Soo and Eddie visit; Grandma reads you book in Korean
Jan. 24: Put in an offer on a home
Jan.26: Offer on home is accepted!!!
Jan.27: Sits up for several minutes by himself! (propped up on hands)
Jan.31: Auntie Molly visits
Feb.1: First Superbowl Party
Feb.3: Auntie Hilary visits; 4-mo. doc appt; home inspection
We've also had lots of fun visits with friends in the past month! :)

These silly photos were taken from a video that I took a couple days ago. He obviously enjoys laughing, screaming, and sticking out his tongue! Enjoy! :)

3 months old

Shirt reads: "Who needs Santa? I've got grandparents!"

Here is Gabriel at 3 months old (on December 14th). Unlike his 2 month photo, we were able to get his photograph during a really happy time! (sorry so late)

Gabriel is growing and changing fast!! He is very interactive with lots of giggles and coos, we have had many special, tender moments recently. He loves bathtime, "power" kicking, his mobile, watching our dog, the song "Jesus Loves Me", playing pattycake with Grandma, making spit bubbles, sucking his thumb, sitting in his bouncy seat and grabbing at/hitting his toys, tummytime and holding his head/chest up (but not for too long!), saying "Hi", "Hug", and "Ai-goo", telling long stories, and generally loves individual attention.

Just a FEW Highlights during November and December include:

*Nov. 5: First night sleeping in his crib
*Nov. 19: First whole day away from mom and dad at Vanessa's
*Nov. 22: Meeting cousin Larson (finally!)
*Nov. 23: Turned 90 degrees in crib, woke up crying with legs stuck between bars!
*Nov. 27: Thanksgiving at Grandparents in Eau Claire; first night away from Home
*Nov. 28: First sucks thumb while Auntie Molly is holding him
*Nov. 28: First trip to Grandparents in Chicago area
*Dec. 6: First Korean word "Ai-goo!"
*Dec. 10: First grabs toy when put to fingers
*Dec. 13: Auntie Hilary graduates
*Dec. 24: First Christmas Eve at Grandparents in Eau Claire and church service
*Dec. 25: Christmas with friends in St. Paul
*Dec. 26: Meets (Great) Grandma Mary for the first time

I'll try to get the 4 month photos up a lot sooner!! :)

2 Months Old Already!!!

It's been a busy month! The biggest event this past month was the arrival of our nephew--Larson Mathias--on October 20th. Because of the length of the drive and the age of our sons, we haven't been able to meet Gabe's cousin yet. Thankfully, we will finally get to introduce the boys next weekend! I can hardly stand the wait!
I started back to work after Gabe was six weeks old; after 2 weeks of vacation, Peter started his new overnight job this past week. I don't know how he does it: working all night and then taking care of Gabriel during the day! But my boys started with a good routine--including Gabe sleeping in late. Praise God!
Gabe started sleeping through the night consistantly at 5 1/2 weeks old! He started to coo and social smile. He loves watching our pets and his surroundings. We've left him with babysitters a couple of times and even got a just mommy-daddy date night in! He has visited with both sets of grandparents and all his aunties. Gabriel has been sleeping in his room in his crib for a little over a week.
I finally bought a Baby's First Year Calendar and we are recording every new experience. Today was Gabe's first grocery shopping trip--Peter carried him in his Snugli (carrier) and our baby was fascinated by all he saw. It's such a precious time to experience all our boy's "Firsts".
Here is Gabriel's two month photo with his Teddy. He wasn't in a great mood that night, so we took these shots in between tears!
Tummy Time!! He is a strong boy--already rolling over from front to back and scooting across the blanket!

3 weeks old

Sorry I haven't been too good about updating the blog...I will try to get back to once/week. Everytime I've tried to update the blog, Gabe decides it's time to eat ;)

Gabe had his doctor check-up yesterday. No shots for him, but mommy had to get a tetanus shot and flu shot, so now her arms are pretty sore!!!

His 3 week stats:

*20.25 inches long (19th percentile)

*9 lbs. 0.5 oz. (42th percentile)

*head circumfrence: 14.69 inches (41st percentile)

A big milestone happened last week is that Gabe rolled over from front to back!!! We were having some "tummy time" and he started scooting across the blanket, so we got out the video camera and then "flip!" He has rolled over 4 times in the past 5 days! What a strong boy!!!

I'll try to post the video later (it'll take me a little while to figure out...)

38 weeks

Here's a belly pic from this past week. My belly looks pretty distorted...Gabe's running out of space in there!!! Hopefully that means he will be here very soon.... :)

We are still unpacking from our move, but baby Gabe's room is coming together... Baby clothes, blankets, towels, etc. are all washed. We just have some organizing to do yet! I'll take some photos of his room once it's a bit more organized...

We can't wait to bring baby Gabe home :) Don't forget to vote for when you think he'll arrive and to get in on the expectnet baby pool (link above.) Sorry, Auntie Molly, you guessed too early!!!

37 weeks

Here are some (not so flattering) 37 week photos. We are successfully moved into our new apartment thanks to Mom and Dad and many other friends who helped us pack, move, and clean.

Our new place is starting to feel like home...we're slowly getting organized and will hopefully get baby Gabe's room set up this coming weekend.

36 weeks

I don't know how I moved into the last square of the ticker so quickly!!!

I don't think my belly has gotten much bigger, but I can definitely tell it's getting to be snug in there!
Here are photos of me at 36 weeks:

Last time I went to the doctor, I commented how the pregnancy has gone by so quickly. She replied that most women say it slows down around 36 weeks. I can see that now! If we weren't moving next weekend, I'd say "Come anytime, Gabe!!"

The ladies at church threw us a baby shower yesterday...it was a very special, fun-filled time. Thank you!! (I'll hopefully post some photos later...)

Here are my 35 week photos:
